5 deaths in 4 months

Yes, it’s true and a bit shocking to see the words on the page as I am writing them. As these deaths have continued to add up over these past weeks, I feel like they have started to blur and blend. I become both numb and more awake, both tearful and overcome with love in such an enormous and somehow also mundane way. Even though it feels a little wobbly and vulnerable to share, it is a real thing that is happening in my world right now and because I support so many with connecting with those who’ve passed, it is certainly on the subject. 
I was attending a workshop over the weekend on Akashic Records reading when I learned that my second cousin, Dave, transitioned. As I laid in bed before sleep on that first night, I felt his kind spirit greet me and surround me with love. I then dreamed of Randy and Ryan, two of the other people who’ve passed recently. When I awoke in the morning my heart was shaken open by the combination of the dreams and the knowledge of Dave’s passing. My mom was able to travel to see him and sing many songs to him before he took his last breath. They were the two remaining musicians of their generation in the family. He’d been holding on for some reason, the hospice people shared, and just after the singing, he let go. So beautiful.

When I arrived at the workshop for the second day, my eyes were red and I felt tender and a little too open. So used to being in the role of leading, I observed that it was good for me to walk into a space with my vulnerability and not feel like I needed to be put together or have all the answers. I entered the room of attendees from all over the country, and my bestie, Rosemary (who’s doing something really cool 2/22 - I’ll be there, come join us), took me in her arms and held me while I cried. She smiled and said, “I had a feeling you might need this” as she handed me a coffee she’d picked up for me on her way in. I hadn’t told her anything yet, she just knew. As I began to connect with all the other powerful healers in the room with the shared experience of stepping into the portal of this new modality together, I didn’t want to be anywhere else.

At one point before we were breaking up into groups to practice, our teacher, Deb Haynie, talked about it being okay not to do the work if you aren’t feeling up for it. She was giving me permission. I appreciated that, and spoke up with a big smile, sharing that often spirit connection in service of others during times like this for me is one of the most pure expressions and experiences of love and home that I know and is exactly the right medicine for all involved. She beamed back at me with a sparkle in her eye. 
We had a wonderful experience in the workshop and it inspired me in many ways which will be revealed to both you and me throughout the year. Stay tuned for that, and for now know that your loved ones in spirit along with my spirit team may guide us while in session into the Akashic Records.

Before we say goodbye to each other for now, let’s raise our metaphorical glasses to all those we have known and loved who are no longer embodied. Let’s take a moment and a few breaths with our eyes closed, a smile on our faces, heads upturned toward the sun and feel the warmth of their love. 🩷

Here’s to you Randy, Paul, Ryan, Steve, Dave and all of your people and animals in spirit too. May you (our loves in spirit) be delighted in your adventures and be singing, laughing and dancing in all the ways that bring you joy. ✨
