An offering on this post election day

On this post election day I have an offering for you.

It feels as though our political focus over these past months has been like a storm of thoughts and projections, fears and hopes brewing and multiplying in intensity. It has been easy to get swept up in its gales and find myself off center and I know I’m not alone.

As we are shifting into landing on one side of such an intense, politically polarized experience, I invite us all to focus inward and ANCHOR. We are exhausted from the power of the magnetic pull and repel, no matter our individual orientation. Many of us have been giving a significant amount of our energy to this and it will help to rebalance us and each other to bring it back home. (See my post about our energetic relationship with news and media for more on this concept, but stay with me here first.)

Here is my invitation:

• First, let go of doing anything else for a few moments and take a break from meeting anyone else’s needs.
• Bring your awareness to your breath, slowing and quieting the external noise and chaos of words, images and imagined potentials and instead focus on being RIGHT HERE IN YOUR BODY RIGHT NOW.
• Soften your jaw and your shoulders.
• Breathe deeply through your nose noticing the rising and falling of your chest. See if you can bring a little more breath to your belly than your chest.
• Feel the air, slow and cool, as it enters your body, comforting and warm as it releases.
• See or sense the sharp definition of external influences fading from your system into the background, away from your body and mind on each exhale until you feel it receding, for a couple or few breaths.
• With your inhale bring the ribbons or tendrils of your own energy back home to rest and recover inside the deep resonance of your heart. Know that your energy is cleansed and neutralized as it renters your system.
• Smile to your heart and breathe here in this space until you feel yourself soften and your energy shift.
• Find some nature to connect with through a window, in your space or outside. This nature will continue to carry on expanding and striving to become regardless of the changing winds of leadership, and we will continue to do this too.
  
  

As we focus inward in this way we assist in grounding the nation and the world in all our likeness and differences. We are each expressions, facets of the energy of life, continuing to learn, grow, remember, release. The more we can anchor, the more we can feel safe and settled and this allows us to connect with the greater truths of being alive.

May your breath and heart lead you toward the frequency of love in all its forms.
