A couple days before it happened, I saw it. A circle of women gathered in a clearing, focusing our energy toward honoring the life of someone who had just passed unexpectedly. When I arrived at Temple of Belonging — a retreat filled with hundreds of women gathered to rest, create in community, and heal — I didn’t expect to receive a vision. It appeared so vividly: a large group of us standing together in one of the outdoor spaces on the land, weaving our energy into the center of the circle to honor someone who had unexpectedly passed in their sleep during the retreat. The image startled me, not because I’m unfamiliar with such things, but because it was powerful and clear and out of context. My work as a medium connects me to loved ones in spirit on behalf of others, but rarely do I receive visions when I’m not in session with a client, and I wasn’t sure what to do with this one. I set it aside, unsure what it meant. A couple of days later, after a beautifully prepared breakfast by the magical TOB kitchen staff, I felt a gentle nudge to approach a table of women I didn’t know. I introduced myself, and within minutes we discovered we were all healers and intuitives. Then one of them shared something that made my body still: her son had just unexpectedly passed away in his sleep while we were at the retreat. The air seemed to shift. Time slowed. I leaned in and asked, “Did this happen two days ago???” She affirmed that it did and in that moment we both knew something powerful was happening. I told her what I had seen, and we felt the unmistakable presence of her son, who passed at 27 years old and our spirit teams guiding us into this shared experience. We felt, the four of us at that table in that moment, a deep connection form with each other and with the magic of life. We spoke with the retreat organizer, and by that evening, a new event had been added to the schedule: “Honoring the Ancestors, A Circle of Healing”. At dinner, this mother stood before the entire retreat on stage and shared this news of her family, her love for her son, and the rawness of having just lost him. She was brave, open, and extraordinary. She also shared how profoundly she felt held in this community of women who didn’t all look like her, but who received her with love. The next morning, we gathered in that same clearing I had seen in my vision. (See below) There was no plan, no script. Only a willingness and dedication to follow the energy. The revered tribal elder, Sweet Medicine Nation, spoke sacred words. My mom and I led songs. Women prayed, sang, and created ceremony together. It was unpolished and deeply moving — exactly as it needed to be. What I carry with me most is the reminder that the spirit world is always reaching out to us. We are shown visions, given nudges, offered threads of connection. If we are listening and willing to follow, those threads lead us to moments of healing and community that none of us could create on our own. This mother’s openness invited us to be with her in her experience and it was an honor and a beautiful exchange for all. Her son’s presence wove us together. And in that circle, we were reminded that love does not end with death — it continues to ripple, guide, and connect us in ways that defy explanation. *** After I wrote this piece, I reached out to this amazing mother and new friend, whose name is Sah’Rah Ma’at Bey. She gave me consent to share this story about her and her beautiful son, Tremayne Livingston Jr. You can see and feel the love. Thank you Tremayne for weaving us all together in such beautiful ways with your special touch. Including you, dearest reader, who are taking in these words. Your loved ones are here with you too. ✨
If you’re ready to experience beautiful loving spirit connection and life affirming intuitive support on your journey, I’m ready and here for you. The transition into fall as things are slowing down is a lovely time to receive. 🌈
